Bicyclist Injured in East Los Angeles Hit-and-Run at Olympic and Herbert
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (November 24, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured a bicyclist at Olympic Boulevard and Herbert Avenue in East Los Angeles.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Wednesday night. Officers reported the incident at about 8:18 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle with tinted windows struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason in East Los Angeles. The driver hit the cyclist at the intersection of East Olympic Boulevard and South Herbert Avenue.
Bicycle Rider Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene near the 5 Freeway. They soon found the bicyclist hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then treated the victim for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the wreck. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the rider and fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Olympic and Herbert to shut down following the incident.
The East Los Angeles hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
