East Oakland DUI Car Crash on 12th Street Saturday

1 Critically Injured in East Oakland Crash on 12th Street

OAKLAND, CA (December 10, 2022) – A driver was critically injured after a DUI crash along 12th Street in East Oakland.

According to an article published by The Mercury News, the accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:34 a.m.

The incident happened when two cars collided for an unknown reason in Oakland. The vehicles collided in the 1100 block of East 12th Street.

Police described the cars as a sedan and an SUV. The 58-year-old man driving the sedan sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

DUI Driver Hits Another Car

Paramedics then rushed the victim to a hospital and listed him in critical condition. The driver of the SUV survived the incident with minor injuries.

Medical personnel transported the patient for further aid. The report did not disclose the names of the two wounded parties.

Meanwhile, police determined that the 26-year-old man driving the SUV was under the influence when he hit the other car. They soon placed him under arrest for DUI.

Officers forced a stretch of 12th Street to shut down for a time following the wreck. The Oakland crash is still under investigation.
