Eda Rojas-Joachin, 48, Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 43 Near Munzer
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 16, 2021) – Eda Rojas-Joachin was killed after a car crash on Highway 43 in Bakersfield.
The coroner’s office identified the 48-year-old woman as the victim of the fatal accident which took place last week on Tuesday.
The incident began when Eda Yadira Rojas-Joachin was riding as a passenger in a 2004 Chevrolet while Maria Mondragon was driving in Bakersfield. The two Shafter women were traveling south on Highway 43.
At the same time, a 2010 Chevrolet was going north. Its driver, 41-year-old Juvencio Palma, drifted into the southbound lane for an unknown reason.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
Maria Mondragon swerved left to avoid the collision. However, the Taft man moved his Chavrolet in his original lane. The California Highway Patrol said the two then collided head-on, south of Munzer Road.
Eda Yadira Rojas-Joachin died as a result of the Highway 43 crash. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found Maria Mondragon hurt as a result of the wreck.
Paramedics soon took her to the Kern Medical for treatment of minor injuries. The Bakersfield Californian and Kern Golden Empire wrote that the collision occurred on August 10 shortly after 5 a.m.
Meanwhile, CHP added that Juvencio Palma sustained minor wounds and sought his own medical aid. The cause of the Bakersfield crash is still under investigation.
