Edward James Nani, 41, Convicted of Murder in Traffic Collision on Ortega Highway Near Antonio Parkway
San Juan Capistrano, CA (June 16, 2021) – Edward James Nani, a 41-year-old man, was found guilty of second degree murder in relation with a fatal car crash on Ortega Highway.
The Orange County Register reported Edward Nani was behind the wheel of a vehicle traveling on the streets of San Juan Capistrano on March 31, 2018. When the vehicle approached the area near Antonio Parkway, Edward Nani swerved into oncoming traffic.
Woman, 77, Killed in San Juan Capistrano DUI Car Crash
Officials said suspect crashed head-on into a car with two occupants. According to the article published online, one innocent person sadly died as a result of the collision. Authorities identified the fatal victim as 77-year-old Amparo Lopez.
Meanwhile, the article mentioned Edward Nani survived the collision. Responding police officers arrested the man on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. On June 16, Wednesday, an Orange County Superior Court jury deliberated and convicted Nani of murder.
