At Least 1 Hurt in Car Accident on Kumeyaay Highway Thursday
El Cajon, CA (June 17, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run car crash occurred on Interstate 8, also known as Kumeyaan Highway, Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 1:45 p.m., CHP logged an accident involving a two vehicles. Officials briefly described the cars found at the scene as a red sedan, and a white sedan.
The California Highway Patrol group mentioned first responders found at the crash site several people involved in the wreck. Paramedics reportedly rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the incident. The name of the injured party, and the extent of their trauma remained undisclosed.

Meanwhile, the CHP dispatch confirmed a driver who played a role in the crash fled the scene before police arrived. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
