1 Killed, 1 Injured in Car Crash on Interstate 80 Saturday
El Sobrante, CA (May 22, 2021) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a car accident on Interstate 80 Saturday afternoon.
The East Bay Times reported a grey sedan with two occupants was traveling east on the freeway in El Sobrante. When the vehicle approached the area near Hilltop Drive offramp, the driver allowed the car to careen off the roadway.
Shortly after 4 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location and found the car crashed down an embankment. Responding paramedics immediately rendered aid to the two occupants, the driver and the passenger.
Fatal Car Accident in El Sobrante, May 22
After the evaluation, authorities confirmed one person sadly died as a result of the wreck. It remained unclear whether the deceased was the driver or the passenger.
Officials added the second occupants survived the incident with serious injuries. The name of the patient, and their condition at this time have not been revealed thus far.
Investigators handling the case continue to work at this time to determine exactly how and why the deadly car accident El Sobrante happened.
