Teen Rider Dies in Traffic Collision at Pleasant Valley Road and Terrace Avenue
Oxnard, CA (November 2, 2022) – Elijah Franco, a 19-year-old Oxnard resident, suffered fatal injuries following a motorcycle accident that happened in the area of Pleasant Valley Road and Terrace Avenue.
The Ventura County Star News reported Franco was riding a 2022 Kawasaki Ninja heading west on Pleasant Valley Road. Officials said the motorcyclist entered the intersection at Terrace Avenue, and was struck by a 2017 Honda Accord heading east on Pleasant Valley.
Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Honda attempted to make a left turn onto Terrace. In the process, the car hit the Franco at the intersection in Oxnard.
Shortly after 1:30 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the scene and found the teenager lying in the roadway. An ambulance rushed the victim to Ventura County Medical Center; where he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. The Oxnard Police Department confirmed the identity of the fatal victim as Elijah Franco.
DUI Suspect Arrested After Fatal Crash in Oxnard
The article published online mentioned the driver of the Honda showed signs of intoxication during the evaluation process. Given that, police arrested the 31-year-old male driver on suspicion of second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
