2-Car Accident on Interstate 5 at Lambert Road Monday
Elk Grove, CA (September 9, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on the Interstate 5, also known as West Side Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a red Nissan Pathfinder collided another vehicle in the southbound side of the freeway. Earlier reports indicated the accident took place near Lambert Road on September 6, Monday.
Emergency teams arrived at the crash site shortly after 5:17 a.m. First responders reportedly found the Nissan rolled approximately 20 feet down the embankment.

Paramedics immediately rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the incident. Officials continue to withhold information on the victim pending confirmation.
Per CHP log, the driver of the other car involved in the accident fled the scene before police arrived. Detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the hit-and-run car crash in Elk Grove happened.
