Ellis Woodall, 37, Killed in Potrero Crash on State Route 94
POTRERO, CA (February 28, 2023) – Ellis Woodall was killed after a motorcycle crash on State Route 94 in Potrero.
The coroner’s office identified the 37-year-old Jacumba Hot Springs man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on last week on Sunday.
The incident happened when Ellis James Woodall was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle on State Route 94 near Bell Valley Truck Trail in Potrero. At the same time, a van was traveling in front of him.
Motorcycle and Van Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the van slowed and initiated a U-turn maneuver. The vehicle then crossed into the eastbound lanes of traffic at the intersection and collided with the motorcyclist.
The FOX 5 News wrote that the accident occurred on February 19 at around 8 p.m. The rider ended up ejected from his motorcycle due to the impact of the collision and became pinned beneath the van.
Ellis Woodall died at the scene of the crash. Meanwhile, CHP added that the driver of the van stopped and stayed at the site following the wreck.
Officers forced the area of State Route 94 and Bell Valley Truck Trail to shut down for a time after the incident. The cause of the Potrero crash is still under investigation.
