Child on Bicycle Injured in Empire Crash on I Street Near Yosemite Boulevard
EMPIRE, CA (June 3, 2021) – A crash left a child on a bicycle injured on I Street near Yosemite Boulevard in Empire.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident as a hit-and-run on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the accident on June 2 at about 6:35 p.m.
According to their dispatch team, a vehicle struck a child who was riding a bicycle in the area of Empire. The driver hit the juvenile at 10 I Street near Yosemite Boulevard.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Empire Elementary School and Teel Middle School. They found the young rider hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the child for the minor injuries they sustained in the crash. Officials did not release the condition of the wounded party at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP initially mentioned that the motorist did not stop after hitting the bicyclist. They later indicated that they located the car involved near The Fruit Yard restaurant.
Officers forced a portion of I Street to close following the bicycle accident. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Empire collision.
