Pedestrian Killed in Eureka Crash Near 5th and K Streets
EUREKA, CA (March 4, 2023) – A crash killed a pedestrian near the intersection of 5th and K streets in Eureka.
According to an article published by The Times Standard, the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the collision on March 4 at around 7 a.m.
The incident happened when the pedestrian was walking south across 5th Street near K Street in Eureka. At the same time, a car was going east.
Police said for an unknown reason, the vehicle struck the person in the crosswalk. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the victim hurt.

The patient sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the wounded individual to the St. Joseph Hospital, where they died.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police added that the driver did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
The report described the car as a 2011-2015 white Lincoln MKX with a sun or moon roof. The mid-size SUV obtained possible driver’s side front-end damage upon impact.
Officers forced the area of 5th and K streets to shut down for a time following the incident. The cause of the fatal Eureka pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
