Fallbrook crash Alvarado Amigos
1 Killed, 1 Badly Injured in Fallbrook DUI Crash Near Alvarado Street and Amigos Way
FALLBROOK, CA (October 1, 2021) – A DUI crash killed one person and badly injured another near East Alvarado Street and Amigos Way in Fallbrook.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News, the tragic accident took place on Friday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 9:50 a.m.
The incident happened when a Chevrolet Cruze was going east on Alvarado Street neat Amigos Way in Fallbrook. At the same time, a Toyota Tacoma was traveling west.
The California Highway Patrol said the Chevrolet then swerved into the westbound lane where it slammed head-on into the Toyota.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the 41-year-old Fallbrook man driving the Cruze dead at the scene.
The driver of the Tacoma, a 42-year-old Fallbrook woman, sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took her to the Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment,
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP believed that alcohol played a role in the incident.
Officers forced the area of Alvarado Street and Amigos Way to shut down for hours following the wreck. The fatal Fallbrook crash is still under investigation.
