2-Vehicle Collision Near San Onofre Nuclear Plant Sunday
Fallbrook, CA (December 28, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on Interstate 5, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Initial records indicated two cars collided in the southbound side of the freeway in Fallbrook. Officials said the incident took place near the San Onofre Nuclear Plant.
The make and model of the vehicles involved in the collision remained unknown.
Shortly after 1:10 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found one car smashed into the center divider. Firefighters immediately checked the wreckage for parties possibly trapped.
The CHP log later confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the accident. Pending confirmation, the name and age of the victim remained undisclosed.

Authorities mentioned the other vehicle drove away from the scene. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
