Disabled Vehicle Hit by Big Rig Truck on I-10 Freeway
BLYTHE, Calif. (July 21, 2021) — A fatal Blythe crash involving a semi-truck happened early Wednesday morning on the Interstate 10 Freeway.
UPDATE: Du Maurier Way, 41, of Maricopa, Arizona, died in the crash.
The crash happened about 2:14 a.m. on the eastbound I-10 Freeway at Arrowhead Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reports a car became disabled on the freeway. A husband and wife exited the vehicle. However, a big rig truck struck the disabled car as they were getting back inside it. The truck also crashed through a fence nearby on the shoulder.
The woman survived the crash, but Du Maurier Way suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP is heading up an investigation into liability for the fatal Blythe crash.
