Fatal Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident Stockdale Highway in Bakersfield Police Searching for Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-run Crash

KERN COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 16, 2022) — A fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Stockdale Highway happened Nov. 4th in Bakersfield, but police have not located two drivers that fled.

The deadly crash occurred in the westbound lanes about 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 4th in the 5100 block of Stockdale Highway.

The Bakersfield Police Department is searching for the driver of a silver Toyota Celica with a rear spoiler from the early 2000s, according to the Bakersfield Californian.

The vehicle would have major damage to its passenger side between the front bumper and the windshield, police said.

There was also a second vehicle that ran over the pedestrian described as a black Chevrolet or GMC truck.

Authorities say the two drivers fled without stopping to help the woman. She suffered fatal injuries and died on scene.

Police believe that at least one of the drivers was speeding at the time of the accident.

Witnesses may call investigators at 661-327-7111.
