Fatal Head-on Crash on State Route 108 in Knights Ferry
KNIGHTS FERRY, Calif. (April 30, 2021) — A fatal Highway 108 truck accident happened Friday morning near Kennedy Road in Knights Ferry.
Additionally, the CHP reported the crash happened about 6:10 a.m. on April 30th near the 50s Road House and horse monument.
Box Truck Accident on Highway 108
The drivers of a red sedan and large box truck crashed head-on when one of the drivers crossed double yellow lanes in the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol. One person was trapped in a vehicle with major injuries. Firefighters responded to extricate the person, but unfortunately they died following the collision.
It’s unknown if there were others hurt in the Highway 108 truck accident. Meanwhile, police did not state if drugs and or alcohol were factors in the collision. The area where the crash took place is a narrow two-lane, curved highway.
Investigators seek to determine the cause of the crash and liability.
