Semi-Truck Hits Mini Cooper on 210 Freeway in Monrovia
MONROVIA, Calif. (April 5, 2021) — A fatal Monrovia 210 Freeway crash happened early Monday morning involving a semi-tractor trailer truck and a Mini Cooper.
Additionally, the fatal crash happened in the eastbound lanes about 5 a.m. on April 5th. The big rig truck crashed into the disabled Mini Cooper in the slow lanes near Mountain Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Mini Cooper became disabled and had its hazard lights before the collision. It was stopped in the slow lane prior to the collision.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to treat anyone hurt in the crash, but sadly at least one person died.
Meanwhile, the identity of the person who died will be released after family members are notified.
Police issued a SigAlert about 6:19 a.m. due to the ongoing investigation blocking traffic lanes.
Also, the roadway eventually reopened at 7:30 a.m., the CHP reports. The cause of the fatal Monrovia 210 Freeway crash is under investigation.
