Pedestrian Killed in DUI Crash Near Auburn Folsom and Sunrise Ridge
AUBURN, CA (September 20, 2021) – A DUI crash killed a pedestrian near Auburn Folsom Road and Sunrise Ridge Circle.
According to the FOX 40 News and CBS Sacramento, the tragic accident took place on Sunday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 6:39 p.m.
Auburn police said the incident happened on September 19 when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian. The car hit him near the intersection of Auburn Folsom Road and Sunrise Ridge Circle.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the 78-year-old man lying on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel later pronounced the victim dead. His name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police determined that the female driver involved was under the influence at the time. They soon arrested her on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Officers forced the area of Auburn Folsom and Sunrise Ridge to shut down for hours following the crash. The fatal pedestrian DUI collision is still under investigation.
