Multi-Vehicle Pomona Collision on the 60 Freeway
POMONA, Calif. (April 20, 2021) — A fatal Pomona car accident happened Tuesday morning on the 60 Freeway at Phillips Ranch Road.
The multi-vehicle collision involved a semi-truck, a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and two sedans. A white Chevrolet Cruz or Honda Civic overturned onto its roof during the Pomona crash and blocked the two middle lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Fatal Pomona Car Accident
Additionally, the deadly traffic accident happened in the westbound lanes at 5:38 a.m. on April 20th, just east of Diamond Bar. Only the carpool lane was open following the fatal Pomona car accident. Traffic came to a standstill as vehicles blocked the roadway.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to help those injured in the collision. The report did not mention how many people were hurt in the 60 Freeway collision.
Investigators seek to determine the cause of the crash and liability.
