Deadly Crash on I-805 Freeway in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (August 11, 2021) — A fatal San Diego crash happened Wednesday morning on the Interstate 805 Freeway.
A brown, Ford Explorer SUV reportedly overturned on the freeway about 6:23 a.m. on August 11th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The SUV rolled over and wound up on its roof in the center divider, San Diego police officials said. A witness told authorities the vehicle was traveling westbound on the 94 Freeway prior to the crash onto the southbound 805 Freeway.

Meanwhile, police requested Caltrans issue a SigAlert due to a long-term closure of the freeway. The identity of the person who died is unknown at this time. The San Diego Medical Examiner will release the person’s name after notifying family members about the collision.
Investigators seek to determine the cause of the collision and liability. Witnesses may contact the CHP San Diego.
