Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Simi Valley
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (Sept. 14, 2021) – A fatal Simi Valley pedestrian accident happened Tuesday morning at Cochran and Stow streets.
According to the Simi Valley Police Department, a driver in a Honda CR-V SUV struck two Simi Valley women walking in a crosswalk, according to the Ventura County Star.
Additionally, the collision happened about 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 14th. The SUV was eastbound on Cochran Street. The driver failed to stop at a red traffic light and struck the two women. The women were walking in the crosswalk together and had the right of way, police said.
The deadly crash happened outside of Simi Valley High School, but no students were involved.
One of the women, age 68, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the other woman, age 37, was injured and transported to a hospital where she remains in serious condition, the newspaper reported.
Meanwhile, the Simi Valley Police Department is heading up the investigation.
