Woman, 56, Killed in Crash at Melrose Drive and Rancho Santa Fe Road
SAN MARCOS, Calif. (April 21, 2022) — Felicita Vazquez Flores, 56, of San Marcos, died several days after a Carlsbad pedestrian accident at Melrose Drive and South Rancho Santa Fe Road.
The collision happened about 5 a.m. on April 14th at the Carlsbad intersection, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
A driver in a Chevrolet truck struck the woman in a neighborhood near Lake San Marcos.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured woman to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. She later died on April 17th at the hospital.
The pedestrian accident led to the closure of the southbound lanes of Rancho Santa Fe Road. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
