2 Dead After Car vs. Truck Collision at Highway 152 and Volta Road Tuesday
Los Banos, CA (October 13, 2021) – Two people, 33-year-old Felipe Molina Loera and 63-year-old Maria Chavez Salas, suffered fatal injuries following a car crash that occurred on Highway 152.
According to Merced Sun-Star News, a 1999 Honda Accord was traveling south on the highway Tuesday morning. For an unknown reason, the car crashed into the trailer of a big rig heading east on SR-152.
The catastrophic incident took place at approximately 6 a.m. near Volta Road.

When rescue teams arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to the occupants of the Accord. Despite life-saving measures, the driver and passenger both succumbed to their injuries and died.
The Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office identified the deceased parties as Felipe Molina Loera; and Maria Chavez Salas, both from Merced.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the truck operator appeared unharmed after the collision.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole morning to investigate the precise circumstances that led to the deadly car and truck accident in Los Banos.
