Fatal Car Accident at Highway 132 and Koster Road Thursday
Tracy, CA (March 19, 2022) – Former Tracy Mayor Michael Maciel died, and another person suffered injured following a traffic collision that occurred in the area of Highway 132 and Koster Road.
According to the Tracy Press News, 71-year-old Maciel was a passenger in a 2014 Ford Focus driven by 18-year-old Nicholas Camper, of Ripon. Earlier reports indicated the Focus was heading north on Koster Road Thursday afternoon. When the car approached the intersection at Highway 132, it drove through the intersection and collided with 2006 GMC Yukon.
The article published online mentioned the Yukon struck the driver’s side of the Ford. Due to the force from the impact, both vehicles sustained significant damage.
Michael Maciel Dead, 1 Injured in Tracy Car Accident
Shortly after 3:40 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the site. First responders found as many as three parties with serious injuries. Our sources confirmed Maciel sadly succumbed to his injuries and died while in transport to a hospital.
Meanwhile, Camper reportedly sustained major injuries. Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
