Driver Killed in Collision Near Interstate 880 Friday
Fremont, CA (January 7, 2022) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Christy Street and Stewart Avenue Friday.
The East Bay Times News reported a gray Volkswagen Passat and a semi-trailer collided at the intersection on Fremont. Officials said the crash took place in an area with office parks and warehouses, just west of Interstate 880.
When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found the driver of the Volkswagen Passat unconscious. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned truck operator appeared unharmed after the incident.
Officers shut down the crash site to give way to the investigation. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the car crash at Christy Street and Stewart Avenue.
