Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Fremont Crash on Interstate 880 Near Thornton
FREMONT, CA (August 27, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 880 near Thornton Avenue in Fremont.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:54 p.m. near Newark.
CHP said a white Toyota Celica and the motorcycle rider collided for an unknown reason in Fremont. They crashed on the northbound Interstate 880, just north of Thornton Avenue.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene and found the motorcyclist hurt. The victim sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the Toyota ended up hurt or if they stopped after the collision. The cause of the Fremont crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 880 near Thornton Avenue to shut down following the wreck.
