1 Seriously Injured in French Camp Hit-and-Run Crash on Northbound Interstate 5
FRENCH CAMP, CA (June 9, 2021) – One was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on the Interstate 5 in French Camp.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:39 p.m.
Their report log said four vehicles collided for an unknown reason in French Camp. They crashed on the northbound Interstate 5, just south of the Mathews Road off-ramp.
Several Cars Collide Near Mathews Road
CHP described two of the cars involved as a white 2015 Toyota Corolla and a gray pickup truck. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.
They found a female occupant of the Toyota who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed her to a hospital for treatment of a severed thumb.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded patient and her condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the one of the drivers involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
Officials forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 5 to shut down following the collision. Authorities are still searching for the suspect. The French Camp hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
