Woman Fatally Struck by Vehicle at Belmont and Echo
Fresno, CA (October 16, 2022) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Belmont and Echo Avenue early Saturday morning.
The Fresno Bee, and ABC News reported a woman suffered fatal injuries after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection in central Fresno. Preliminary investigation revealed a motorist called the police after hitting a pedestrian at Belmont and Echo Avenue.
Shortly after 12:45 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found a woman lying on the ground. Medical personnel performed life-saving measures to the victim but she sadly succumbed to her trauma and passed away. Authorities only identified the deceased as a female in her 50s.
During the investigation process, officials determined another vehicle hit the woman before the motorist who reported the incident. The first driver involved in the horrible crash apparently fled the scene. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
Detectives handling the case continue to gather details surrounding the deadly accident that happened at Belmont and Echo Avenue.
