
Motorcyclist Injured in Fresno Crash on Highway 99 Near Highway 180
FRESNO, CA (May 6, 2023) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a crash on Highway 99 near Highway 180 in Fresno.
According to an article published by the ABC 30 News, the accident took place early Saturday. Officers reported the collision on May 6 shortly before 3 a.m.
The incident began when a Honda slammed into the rear a truck and became stuck in the middle lane of northbound Highway 99 near Highway 180 in Fresno.
The California Highway Patrol said a tow truck pulled over to move the Honda out of the roadway. At the same time, a motorcycle rider approached the area.
DUI Driver Causes Pileup
The motorcyclist then lost control and collided with the Honda and tow truck. Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed the rider to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP determined that the male driver of the Honda was under the influence.
Medical personnel transported the suspect, a 28-year-old man, with minor injuries. Officers forced the northbound side of Highway 99 to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Fresno crash is still under investigation.
