Woman Killed in Car Accident on Stanislaus Street Wednesday
Fresno, CA (May 12, 2021) – One person died after a police chase led to a car crash on Stanislaus Street Wednesday afternoon, ABC30 News reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed the pursuit started in Chinatown. According to the article published online, the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) were tracking down a gang member wanted for several weapons violations.
When officers spotted a black Ford Focus driven by a suspect, a California Highway Patrol deputy with the MAGEC attempted to pull over the driver of the Ford. The suspect failed to yield and took off at a high rate of speed. For this reason, officers launched a pursuit.
Our sources indicated Ford driver tossed out a loaded AR-15 rifle while in the middle of the chase. In an attempt to evade the police, the Ford driver went against traffic on Stanislaus Street and slammed into a BMW.
Authorities said the innocent woman behind the wheel of the BMW sadly died as a result of the crash. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.

Meanwhile, officials mentioned the suspect driving the Ford jumped out of his car and ran away. Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect.
