Hit-and-Run Driver Froylan Francoarqueta, 55, Kills ATV Rider in Mead Valley
MEAD VALLEY, CA (April 5, 2021) – Authorities detained Froylan Francoarqueta after a fatal hit-and-run crash in Mead Valley.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 55-year-old Perris man as the driver who killed an ATV rider last week on Thursday night.
The incident happened on April 1 when Froylan Francoarqueta was driving a Toyota SUV on Myron Street in the unincorporated Mead Valley area.
Boy, 17, Riding Quad Hit by Car on Myron Street
At the same time, a 17-year-old Perris boy was riding a quad. CHP said for an unknown reason, Froylan Francoarqueta struck the teen near Mead Street.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced the ATV rider dead at the scene. The Press Enterprise and My News LA reported the collision at around 8 p.m.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that Francoarqueta did not stop to render aid to the teenage rider. He fled eastbound on Myron toward Brown Street.
Authorities soon located and arrested him on suspicion of murder and hit-and-run, resulting in death. They held him without bail. The tragic Mead Valley hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
