Vehicle Strikes, Kills Man at El Segundo and Normandie
Gardena, CA (May 7, 2023) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of El Segundo Boulevard and Normandie Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Earlier reports indicated a vehicle struck an individual at the intersection in Gardena. CHP logged the case on May 7, Sunday, around 10:23 p.m.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Gardena
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the pedestrian trapped underneath the vehicle. Responding firefighters worked extensively to pull out the victim. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the pedestrian sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
No immediate information was available on the driver involved in the horrible crash. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened at El Segundo Boulevard and Normandie Avenue in Gardena.
