Cargo Truck Strikes, Kills Pedestrian on Western Avenue Thursday
Gardena, CA (November 18, 2021) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on Western Avenue Thursday afternoon, according to My News LA.
The article published online mentioned an individual was seen standing in the center median of Western Avenue at about 5:40 p.m. Shortly after, the Gardena Police Department received a call reporting a cargo truck hit the pedestrian. Preliminary investigation revealed the cargo truck was traveling north on Western Avenue. The horrible crash happened when the truck made a left-hand turn into a business in the 17100 block of Western Avenue. For an unknown reason, the big rig struck the man standing in the center median. The catastrophic incident took place at approximately 5:40 p.m.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Gardena, November 18
Our sources confirmed the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole afternoon. The continued investigating liability in the deadly pedestrian accident on Western Avenue in Gardena.
