Geovany Rojas, 31; and Julian Hernandez, 35, Killed in Arroyo Grande Crash
ARROYO GRANDE, CA (July 8, 2022) – A crash on Highway 1 killed Geovany Rojas and Julian Hernandez in Arroyo Grande.
The California Highway Patrol identified the two Santa Maria men as the victims of the fatal wreck which took place on Wednesday.
The incident happened when Geovany Bazan Rojas was driving a 2007 Honda Civic with Julian Hernandez north on Highway 1 in Arroyo Grande.
At the same time, a 2005 Dodge Ram was going south. CHP said the pickup truck then began to make a left turn onto Winterhaven Way.
1 Injured in Highway 1 Wreck
The Dodge went directly into the path of the Honda. In the process, the two cars collided head-on just north of the intersection.
The Santa Maria Times and KSBY News wrote that the accident occurred on July 6 at about 4:45 a.m. Geovany Rojas, 31, and Julian Hernandez, 35, died as a result of the crash.
The driver of the Ram, a 38-year-old Grover Beach man, survived the incident with minor to moderate injuries. Officers forced Highway 1 to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the Arroyo Grande crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the CHP at 805-594-8700.
