Gilberto Gomez, 52, Killed in Palm Desert Crash Near Highway 111 and Fred Waring
PALM DESERT, CA (September 12, 2021) – Gilberto Gomez was killed after a car crash near Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive in Palm Desert.
The coroner’s office identified the 52-year-old Indio man as one of the two victims in the fatal wreck which occurred on Sunday morning.
Deputies said Gilberto Gomez was riding one of the two vehicles which collided in Palm Desert. The cars crashed for an unknown reason near the intersection of Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive.
Boy, 17, Dead in Car Collision
The Riverside County Fire Department said Gilberto Gomez died at the scene of Palm Desert crash. Paramedics also pronounced a 17-year-old boy dead.
A third individual sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed the patient to the hospital for treatment.
The Desert Sun and KESQ News wrote that the accident took place shortly after 4:30 a.m. Meanwhile, the cause of the Palm Desert crash is still under investigation.
