1 Injured in Gilroy Crash on Southbound Highway 101 Near Masten Avenue
GILROY, CA (June 12, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 101 near Masten Avenue in Gilroy.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Saturday evening. According to their dispatch team, officers reported the wreck at about 6:13 p.m.
Two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Gilroy. They crashed on the southbound side of Highway 101, a half mile north of Masten Avenue.
2 Cars Collide Near San Martin
The report described the cars involved as a white Kia Rio and a black Honda sedan. One of the vehicles obtained minor rear-end damage upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the San Martin village. They found one person who sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 101 to close following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Gilroy crash.
