2 Children Injured in Pedestrian Crash at Chestnut and Old Gilroy Streets
GILROY, CA (March 23, 2022) – A pedestrian crash left two children injured at Chestnut Street and Old Gilroy Street in Gilroy.
According to the KRON 4 News and KION News, the accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the collision at around 7:55 a.m.
Police said incident happened when the two children were walking their way to Eliot School in Gilroy. For an unknown reason, a car hit them.
Juveniles Hit by Car
The vehicle struck the juveniles as they crossed the intersection of Chestnut Street and Old Gilroy Street. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the pedestrian accident. Medical personnel rushed them to a trauma center for treatment.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver stopped or stayed at the site after hitting the children. Officers forced the area of Chestnut and Old Gilroy streets to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
