3 Killed, 1 Injured in Granada Hills Crash on 118 Freeway Near 405 Freeway
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 14, 2022) – A crash killed several people and injured one person on the 118 Freeway near the 405 Freeway in Granada Hills.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and ABC 7 News, the tragic accident took place late Saturday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 11:59 p.m.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the Granada Hills neighborhood. They crashed on the eastbound 118 Freeway, just west of the 405 Freeway.
2 Cars Collide
One of the cars involved became fully engulfed in flames upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced its three occupants dead at the scene.
At least one individual riding the other vehicle ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the patient to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officers forced the eastbound lanes of the 118 Freeway to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Granada Hills crash is still under investigation.
