Man, 79, Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Highway 198 Thursday
Hanford, CA (January 6, 2022) – A 79-year-old pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on 12th Avenue Thursday evening.
The ABC30 News reported a vehicle struck an elderly man in the area north of Highway 198 near Glendale. According to the article published online, the man was crossing the street when an oncoming motorcyclist almost hit him. Another vehicle traveling behind the motorbike failed to avoid and struck the pedestrian.
Shortly after 6:15 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics immediately attended to the person found lying on the ground. Despite life-saving measures, the victim succumbed to his injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
The driver involved in the horrible crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process.
Detectives continue to work at this time to determine liability in the deadly pedestrian accident on 12th Avenue in Hanford.
