Hans Velasquez and Anthony Quezada ID’d as Suspects in Escondido Stolen Car Crash
ESCONDIDO, CA (November 12, 2021) – Officers detained Hans Velasquez and Anthony Quezada after a stolen car crash in Escondido.
Police identified the two men and two women as the suspects in the wreck which took place at Valley Parkway and Fig Street on Thursday.
The incident began when Hans Velasquez, Anthony Quezada and two women were riding a Subaru Forester in Escondido. The men stole the car at a parking structure on Seagaze Drive in Oceanside.
Police said the Subaru then ran a red light at the intersection of Fig Street and Valley Parkway. The stolen car hit a pickup truck and plowed into the Frida’s Street Tacos restaurant.
The truck obtained substantial front-end damage due to the impact. Its male driver ended up ejected from his car as a result of the November 11 collision.
Victim Severely Injured in Wreck
Paramedics rushed him to the Palomar Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the victim and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police took Hans Velasquez and Anthony Quezada into custody. They determined that the men picked up the two women and two children on the way after they carjacked the Subaru at knifepoint.
Officers arrested Hans Velasquez, 20, of Oceanside, on suspicion of carjacking, DUI, hit-and-run and child endangerment.
They arrested Anthony Quezada, 19, of Escondido, on suspicion of carjacking. Medical personnel took a female suspect and both children to different hospitals with minor wounds.
The CBS 8 San Diego and NBC San Diego wrote that the accident occurred at around 10:15 p.m. The Escondido crash is still under investigation.
