Major Injury Collision on Nimitz (880) Freeway Sunday
Hayward, CA (July 11, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a traffic accident involving a motorcycle rider on Interstate 880, also known as Nimitz Freeway, Sunday morning.
At about 6:55 a.m., a motorcyclist collided with a silver passenger vehicle in the southbound side of the freeway. The crash took place near the Industrial Parkway offramp. Per CHP log, the force from the impact caused the motorcycle to break its handle bars.
Motorcycle Rider Hospitalized After Road Accident in Hayward, July 11
Responding emergency teams found the rider lying on the right-hand shoulder of the interstate. Responding paramedics immediately attended to the victim. After the evaluation, medical personnel transferred the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Additional details on the collision have not been discussed thus far. At this time, investigators continue to work to determine the precise cause of the car and motorcycle accident in Hayward.
