Vehicle Hits Woman on Highway 108 Near Old Wards Ferry Road Bridge Monday
Sonora, CA (October 4, 2021) – Heather Bruehl, a 40-year-old woman, suffered injuries following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Highway 108 Monday morning.
The Union-Democrat News reported the victim, a Sonora resident, was on the north shoulder of the highway. The woman apparently stepped into the westbound lanes and tried to walk across the highway.
According to the article published online, an oncoming vehicle struck the pedestrian. Officials described the car involved in the collision as a Cadillac SUV.
Emergency crews arrived at the location shortly after 9 a.m. Authorities said the crash took place just east of Old Wards Ferry Road bridge.

First responders found Heather Bruehl with injuries. Due to the severity of the wounds of the victim, a helicopter airlifted the patient to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment.
Meanwhile, the 85-year-old man driving the Cadillac appeared unharmed after the incident.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led to the pedestrian accident in Sonora.
