Woman Killed in Hemet Hit-and-Run Crash on Sanderson Avenue
HEMET, CA (April 18, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash along Sanderson Avenue in Hemet.
According to The Orange County Register and My News LA, the tragic accident occurred early Sunday. Officers reported the incident at about 3:17 a.m.
Police said a vehicle struck a Hemet woman in her mid to late 30s on southbound Sanderson Avenue. The driver hit her for an unknown reason near Fruitvale Avenue.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and then found the victim left lying on the ground as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel rushed her to a nearby hospital where she died. The name of the deceased pedestrian remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and soon fled the area. Officials described the car involved as a brown or tan colored sedan.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect. They added that the victim reportedly jumped out into traffic on Kirby Street prior to the fatal crash.
Police forced Sanderson Avenue to close for a time following the collision. Anyone with information can call the Hemet police at 951-765-2400.
