Driver Killed, Passenger Injured in Collision on Highway 4 Wednesday
Hercules, CA (June 23, 2021) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a car accident on Highway 4 early Wednesday.
The East County Today reported a blue 2008 Toyota Scion XB veered off the roadway while traveling on Highway 4. Per article published online, the horrible crash took place near the transition ramp onto eastbound Interstate 8.
Shortly after 1 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the site and found the Toyota fully engulfed in flames. Responding firefighters worked extensively to pull out the driver and the passenger trapped in the wreckage.

Our sources later confirmed the driver, a 20-year-old male, succumbed to their injuries and died at the scene. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old passenger reportedly escaped death with major injuries. Paramedics transported the patient to a local hospital for treatment and further evaluation.
Investigators continue to work at this time to determine exactly what happened here and why.
