Driver Critically Injured in Hesperia Crash at Highway 395 and Joshua Street
HESPERIA, CA (May 6, 2021) – A driver was critically injured after a car crash at Highway 395 and Joshua Street in Hesperia.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the accident occurred on Thursday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 9 a.m.
The incident happened when a white 2021 Freightliner was going south on US Highway 395 in Hesperia. At the same time, a red 2002 Pontiac was going west on Joshua Street.
For an unknown reason, the operator of the semi-truck ran a red light. The sheriff’s department said the big rig then collided with the car in the intersection.
Semi-Truck Runs Red Light, Hits Car
The impact forced both the truck and the Pontiac into the park and ride on the southwest corner of the intersection. Seven unoccupied vehicles obtained minor to major damage as a result of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene. They found the male driver of the Pontiac suffering from life-threatening injuries following the wreck.
Medical personnel soon rushed him to a local trauma center and listed him in critical but stable condition. Deputies did not release the name of the victim.
Meanwhile, officials forced the intersection of Highway 395 and Joshua Street to shut down for a time after the collision. Authorities are still investigating the Hesperia crash.
