2 Killed, 1 Injured in Hesperia Crash at Cottonwood Avenue and Sequoia Street
HESPERIA, CA (October 17, 2022) – A crash at Cottonwood Avenue and Sequoia Street killed two people and injured one other person in Hesperia.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the tragic accident took place on Sunday evening. Officers reported the wreck on October 16 at about 7:24 p.m.
The incident happened when a 22-year-old Hesperia man was riding a 2021 Honda CBR motorcycle west on Sequoia Street in the city.
At the same time, a 2010 Subaru Outback was going south on Cottonwood Avenue. For an unknown reason, the motorcyclist failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection.
Motorcyclist Runs Stop Sign, Hits Car
The sheriff’s office said in the process, the two collided. The rider ended up thrown from the bike due to the impact of the collision. He landed in the back seat of the Outback.
Both the motorcycle operator and the 43-year-old Hesperia man driving the car died as a result of the crash. The passenger in the Subaru, a 71-year-old woman, survived with minor injuries.
Paramedics rushed her to a hospital for further aid. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, deputies forced the area of Cottonwood and Sequoia to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal incident is still under investigation.
