Man, 57, Killed in Hesperia Hit-and-Run on Locust Avenue Near Mauna Loa Street
HESPERIA, CA (April 8, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash along Locust Avenue in Hesperia.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the tragic accident occurred on Wednesday night. Officers reported the incident on April 8 at about 8:53 p.m.
The sheriff’s department said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit him on Locust Avenue, north of Mauna Loa Street, in Hesperia.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and then found the 57-year-old man left lying on the ground as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. His name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, deputies affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
Officials soon shut down Locust Avenue from Mauna Loa Street to Pendleton Street for several hours following the Hesperia hit-and-run crash. The fatal collision is still under investigation
