Injury Car Accident on Highway 163 at Balboa Park Sunday
San Diego, CA (August 3, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run car crash occurred on State Route Highway 163 on August 1, Sunday, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Our sources indicated an Uber vehicle collided with another car on the highway near the area of Balboa Park. Officials described the Uber vehicle as a gray Acura.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the site and found a passenger in the Uber car. Paramedics immediately attended to the passenger, and driver. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person sustained major injuries as a result of the wreck. The name of the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.

Meanwhile, the CHP dispatch confirmed the other car involved in the mishap fled the scene before police arrived. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect. Investigators later gathered information indicating the suspect accelerated north on the freeway. Furthermore, the vehicle apparently sustained moderate damage to its passenger side.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work at this time to determine several factors surrounding the hit-and-run car crash at Balboa Park.
