1 Killed in Hollister Crash on Highway 152 Near El Toro
HOLLISTER, CA (September 18, 2022) – A car crash killed at least one person on Highway 152 and El Toro near Hollister.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck at about 1:53 a.m. near the Bell Station community.
The incident happened when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason near Hollister in San Benito County. They crashed on eastbound Highway 152 near El Toro.
2 Vehicles Collide
CHP said one of the cars involved went off the roadway. That vehicle then plunged 150 to 200 feet down an embankment due to the impact of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that one individual died as a result of the accident.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, officers forced the eastbound lanes of Highway 152 to shut down near El Toro following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Hollister crash is still under investigation.
