Pedestrian Injured in Homeland Hit-and-Run at Highway 74 and Ritter Avenue
HOMELAND, CA (January 3, 2022) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash at Highway 74 and Ritter Avenue in Homeland.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the collision at about 1:38 p.m.
The incident happened on New Year’s Day, January 1, when a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason Homeland. The driver hit the person on Highway 74 at the intersection of Ritter Avenue.
Victim Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Dollar General store. They found the victim hurt as a result of the collision
Medical personnel then provided aid to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the victim and fled the area. They described the car as a Mercedes with damage to its left side.
Officers forced the corner of Highway 74 and Ritter Avenue to shut down following the accident. The cause of the Homeland hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
